WHY

Camp Monte Stella believes that young women have a unique contribution to make to society. We encourage girls to be leaders of today and tomorrow, and equip them with the tools to do so through a combination of leadership talks, personal challenges, faith formation, team building activities, interactive STEAM modules, and one-on-one mentoring, all provided by trusted role models and done alongside similarly driven peers.  Designed by parents, educators, and other professionals, our program motivates young women to use their talents in a shared vision of service oriented leadership at home, at school, and in the community.

HOW

Camp Monte Stella is a leadership program of Stellar Leadership, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. We are in our 12th year of advancing leadership for young women throughout the Bay Area. We are 100% volunteer-run, and serve families and girls entering 5th-9th grades through our summer camp and counselor training program throughout the year. The Board of Directors, staff and counselors receive no salary for their work.

WHAT

We offer a nurturing recreational summer camp that fosters a sense of mission and of friendship with a network of similarly driven peers. Through this environment we can bring out the best in young women. Camp Monte Stella challenges the campers to practice cheerfulness, generosity, responsibility, diligence, fortitude and femininity — key qualities to be authentic leaders.

We train high school counselors to design, prepare and lead 1) leadership talks on organization, resiliency, loyalty, generosity, sociability, and comportment, 2) faith formation, 3) team-based activities that enforce and provide opportunities to practice what they learn, and 4) classes in science, engineering, cooking, visual and performing arts. Through this training, the counselors gain confidence and leadership ability, and mastery of the material they teach, for helping others to become leaders.

Camp Monte Stella is a leadership program of Stellar Leadership, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are gratefully received and tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The spiritual dimension offered by SSLC, Inc. is entrusted to the personal Prelature of Opus Dei that encourages people to practice Christian virtues in all the ordinary circumstances of their life, specifically at home, at work, at school and in their community.
