It was an incredible week at our first interactive virtual camp, CMS LIVE! held on July 20-24. We welcomed 66 campers coming from all directions: the north (Oregon and British Columbia, Canada); the south (Arizona); the west coast (NorCal & SoCal), the east coast (Ontario, Canada) and in between with girls from Ohio and Texas! In total nearly 100 people were involved in CMS LIVE! 2020.
We were able to incorporate some of our favorite camp traditions such as a board games cabin theme (Jenga, Candyland, Monopoly, Clue, Life & Catan), decades dance themed dress-up days, and clash of the cabin's games. The leadership talks and catechism classes presented by our high school counselors were part of our schedule too. We added new activities like Campers Who Code, Graphic Design, and Improv! & Public Speaking. Everything went well despite the quick learning curve for both organizers and families—we pushed every feature available on Zoom to pull it all together!
We are grateful to our donors, campers and families, the training team and camp staff for their generous support that keeps us motivated and funded in order to bring leadership formation and fun to our campers!
