We have a Winner!
Loud and proud, our campers presented their cabin cheers around the campfire. Awards for the best presentation of the camp code and spirit demonstrating positivity, humor, musicality, and creativity went to 5th grade (3rd place), 8th grade (2nd place), and in 1st place - 6th grade!
The leadership talks on Fortitude and Generosity really come into play during sports when our campers waited under the Gold Country sun for their turn at the various stations. Campers called on teamwork and trust as they worked to hoist their friends up the giant swing before releasing them for a thrilling swing among the trees.
The elegant dinner is a special camp tradition! The beautifying continued into the late afternoon as campers put on their best outfits and hairstyles for the elegant catechism on our Lady, the most elegant of all. We were treated to dinner and a show by a wonderful variety of talents: a piano duet, group song and dance routines, and solo singing acts with instruments took the stage. The Murder Trial on Wednesday night is the comedic culmination of a week-long game devised to help the girls get to know each other by answering questions with the person's name.
Our last day of camp will continue to be be packed with more special events like Clash of Cabins, Decades Dance and Camper Awards, and a catechism on the Family.
Hope to see you all tomorrow for the Holy Mass at 9:15 AM immediately followed by the parent presentation by our campers.

Camp is in full swing!
Our campers attended a talk on Modesty which they put into their dressing for Mass. The campsite staff are so impressed at how elegant the girls look while still being their fun-loving and energetic selves!
Practices for the dance activity are underway and campers are quickly learning the choreography. They looked great and more importantly they were having a blast!
Speaking of blasts, the girls created rockets using 2-liter bottles and pipes. Other STEM activities included slime and bath bombs. Many future engineers and scientists among our campers!
Campers also had an artful morning decorating tote bags and notebooks which will remain useful beyond camp. Right away, the totes were used for keeping their things together since many items end up in the lost and found.
Speaking of lost and found, we shared many stories of St. Josemaria Escriva's intercession where many things were received through his help.

Sports activities keep the pace up during the afternoon. Our campers learned to nail a bullseye in archery, faced their fears as they swung 20 feet above the ground on the giant swing, and cooled off in the pool. A new record was achieved at the water slide! One of the counselors shot past the first landing pool into the record breaking stretch! She got to add her name to the record makers!

Our campers rounded off their busy day with catechism class on the real presence of God in the Eucharist, a rousing session of cabin cheers, and the nightly campfire.
Arrival Day
What a smooth registration and introduction to camp 2018! Our campers went exploring their new campsite via the Color Game and had their arms striped with several colors as they located the chapel, dining room, and various locations for Mass and Reconciliation as well as the labyrinth of cabins.
After plenty of running, we were thankful for a delicious dinner of chicken Alfredo pasta, green beans and moist tres leches cake!
Next up was the first Catechism class given by our counselors to their respective cabin campers. The topic was The Sacrament of Reconciliation also called confession.
After class and snack, we gathered at the amphitheater for our first campfire where we heard about camp traditions that encourage timely bedtime and cleanliness. The Wall-E cabin was awarded with our mascot "Sleepy Bear", and Cars cabin received "Quizzly's Goggles" for going to bed on time. Tonight we'll find out who wins the "Golden Dustpan" for the cleanest cabin, and "Coco&Chanel" for the cleanest bathroom!
