OPENING DAY, SUNDAY, JUNE 20
Many thanks to each family for the cooperation on arrival day; we are grateful for all the effort and time to make camp as safe as possible! CMS is off to an exciting start! Our camp theme is Princess Sidekicks because every hero needs a friend to guide and support her along the way. Further, sidekicks are always in the background even though they are important characters. They are examples of “gift of self”, to hide and disappear as well. The virtue of humility is the foundation of every great leader.
We kicked off with some ice breaker games as everyone received their name tags and found their "home" for the week. Later, counselors gave their campers a leadership talk on friendship as we are going to experience a full week of getting to know new girls! Everyone was ready for dinner! Eating with our cabin cohort, we enjoyed a spaghetti meal complete with delicious garlic bread, Caesar salad and just-right cookies (not too sweet and not too small)! After praying the rosary and having the first cabin meeting, we pulled out decorations to get in the cabin spirit!
Leadership Talk: "Friendship: Sharing Our Gifts".

SECOND DAY, MONDAY, JUNE 21
Our second day began with Holy Mass as we prayed for a wonderful and fruitful camp, and for everyone's families at home. Activities kicked off with art, dance, science and improv! The highlight of our sports-time was the swimming pool which was especially refreshing in the heat! At catechism class, the girls learned that the Sacrament of Confession is an experience of God's mercy; they considered the five helpful tips for making a good reconciliation. Another special camp treat awaited us this evening...campfire s'mores! We toasted and roasted marshmallows around the campfire, and listened to stories of receiving miracles through the intercession of St. Josemaria Escriva.
Leadership Talk: Order: In Our Use of Heart.
Catechism Class: Confession - why we need it frequently.

FOURTH DAY, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23
Our 5th graders are having the time of their lives, winning 1st place in nearly all the cabin competitions! They are our most energetic and cutest campers! No homesickness in sight though they are the youngest girls at camp! Their song and sweet voices left us teary eyed as they sang "all those years waiting for this day...that at last we see the light...of the campfire burning bright...and at last we see the light...and we all love you". Elegant Dinner night was the big event today! We dressed up, looked beautiful and attended elegant catechism in our pretty outfits!
Leadership Talk: Sincerity: Unity of life and living honestly.
Catechism Class: The 4th & 6th Commandments - Obedience to our parents & the gift of purity.
